Currency Revaluation
In this function, a revaluation of open transactions can be performed as of a selected exchange rate. This function is used in conjunction with the revaluation of open inventory to the closing rate or when an inbound delivery or supplier invoice has been booked with an incorrect exchange rate where crediting is not possible.
During 'Currency Revaluation,' a journal is created with rows where you can review or modify the results before posting. In the first image, you'll find a list of journals that have not yet been posted. This list should be empty after posting.
All journals must be posted or deleted. If there is a journal with the same currency and location, no new journal will be created.
Workflow
By selecting the 'Create' command, you enter the filtering mode where the minimum filter combination includes location, currency, and 'as of' date (open as of date). The current exchange rate is displayed here, and you can change the exchange rate in the image before creating the journal. Filters can also be applied to purchase order or inbound delivery numbers.
Inside the journal, the results of filtering are displayed as rows per inbound delivery number, even if a supplier invoice is booked or a previous revaluation has been performed. The rows show document number, item variant, currency code, exchange rate, remaining quantity, remaining value (in currency), new value, unit value, and new unit value. Changing the exchange rate is possible before posting."
